Week 46: The Walk-in Miracle

Just after our sacrament meeting, Millett and I were joyfully visiting with a couple members when Bishop spotted us with eagle's eyes, hunted us down, and beckoned us toward him. When we got close, he informed us that he had a special assignment that would surely keep us extra busy. He walked us to a lady and introduced us to her. Her name was Ninna and she had a son named Nikolaj who was old enough for baptism. She asked us to teach her young boy with a mini-lesson right then and there. We happily agreed and briefly chatted about the importance of church, prayer, and scripture study. We also discussed the role of Jesus Christ in our life (Savior, Redeemer, Creator, just to name a few). When we finished, Ninna invited us to swing by a couple times throughout the next two weeks to talk more. We came to a mutual agreement that a few visits should be enough to adequately prepare him for his upcoming baptismal interview with Bishop. This was undoubtedly a walk-in miracle. Prayers for Nikolaj would be greatly appreciated by the Odense 2 Elders. :D

I went on two splits during this week. The first was with Brown up in Århus, the furthest North I had ever been in Jylland (Jutland). Brown had plenty of adventures planned for our romantic reunion. We caught up on the past months and revived dead jokes, grinded almost as hard as we did in Roskilde in the form of Facebook finding at the Århus church building, took a beautiful stroll through the streets of Århus to eat some Paradis ice cream, threw a bunch of yummy ingredients together in a large pot with inspiration from AP Kresge, and played a ridiculously luck-based domino game called Triominos. The next morning, Brown killed me on a run and then we enjoyed another heart-to-heart on the way to Vejle. A part of my heart was left behind in the City of Smiles.
The second was with Jensen in the luxurious apartment. We scrolled through Facebook groups to find people to talk to, watched philosophical and spiritual videos, made endless jokes and had many deep conversations, witnessed the summer Danish nightlife in a big city, cooked some delicious Mexican salsa chicken, listened to the Old Testament, pillow talked when we couldn't sleep from the obnoxious noise and blasting music surrounding us. Good times, indeed.

I would like to close by sharing the final verse of a song that I've been learning on the piano. It reads, "For you know better than I. You know the way. I'll take what answers you supply. You know better than I." Can you guess which movie it's from? If you think you're a genius then send your guess without cheating (that means you can't look it up). Anyway, back to the spiritual. I really like this verse because it reminds us to give credit to God. He knows what is best for us. He knows the path we need to take. He sometimes gives us answers that are difficult to accept, but it is always best to follow. Don't forget that He knows best. Love you all!

Skab en god uge,
