Week 39: To Mothers Everywhere

I don't want to bore the audience with the many hours of finding that took place this week or even go through the rather uneventful week, but I do want to focus on a more important matter - the divine role of mothers. I'm blessed to have grown up surrounded by righteous, exemplary women in my family and friend groups. I still have many female role models in my life, and the first person that comes to my mind is my dear mother. She is a beacon that is built upon an immovable rock. She has brought me to this earth and nourished my love for the gospel. She has supported me in times of difficulty and humbled me in times of accomplishment. She has always put our family first and prioritized eternal things before worldly things. She means so much to me and I love her with all of my heart! I hope that she always remembers that! 😘
As Neil L. Andersen once said, "Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling.. It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for." The divine role that mothers play in the family unit is necessary. Christlike Motherhood is essential to bring God's purposes to pass. After all, "few of us will reach our potential without the nurturing of both the mother who bore us and the mothers who bear with us" (Sheri L. Dew). Surely, motherhood is more than just a simple assignment - it is a holy service. The influence that mothers have on their children is real and beyond calculation. Their love toward their children is a great reminder of the Savior's perfect love. Jeffrey R. Holland once said, "No love in mortality comes closer to approximating the pure love of Jesus Christ than the selfless love a devoted mother has for her child." The best I would respond to this claim is with an emphatic Amen.
I just want to conclude by thanking my mother and inviting you to cherish the special relationship to your mothers. I would not have discovered how to make a great day without the catchphrases of Mom. I would not have realized the purpose I play without the teachings of Mom. I would not have had the courage to pursue my dreams without the encouragement of Mom. I would not have continued growing my faith in Christ or even left for my mission in Denmark without the example of Mom. I know that she thinks of me and prays for me more often than I can count. I cannot thank her enough, but I can sure try! I LOVE YOU, MOM!!😍 Please, don't take your mothers for granted. They are doing the best they can and they are pleading on your behalf. Tell them that you love them and that you miss them. Thank them for teaching you lessons, whether they had to do it the easy or hard way. Serve them and love them in return. Make every day Mothers' Day.
Love from Odense,
